Reactoplasts

Reactoplasts (formerly thermosets, duromers, thermosets) are cross-linked polymers that create a three-dimensional network. They can be one-component or two(or more)-components. Cross-linking occurs only during plastic forming under the influence of heat and pressure, sometimes by the action of catalysts. Once the cross-linking is completed, further forming is not possible, because the re-application of the given influence (heat, pressure, radiation, catalyst) cannot melt the mass of the reactoplast – formed network that has already formed cannot be canceled. Dense cross-linking is called curing.
